Connectivity optionMore than a collection of cameras connected to a cloud service, UrsiQ is a coordinated system that brings the field and server together. Every component has a clear role—and each is designed to work with the others.
Observation starts at the Intelligent Camera Unit, is coordinated and analyzed locally by the Image Processing Unit, powered by the site’s selected power system, and connected to UrsiQ Core for deeper analysis, management, logging and notification.

Every UrsiQ camera is an active part of the detection system, not merely an image source.
Each ICU captures high-resolution still imagery and video concurrently, performs local image processing, participates in IntelliSense adaptive sensing, and contributes the first stage of filtering before data ever reaches the IPU or UrsiQ Core.
A 12-megapixel Sony image sensor provides detailed daytime imagery, while a six-LED flood provides 940 nm night illumination invisible to animals. Optional mmWave radar adds an additional sensing layer for enhanced target detection and tracking. Camera behavior can be tuned individually to the field it sees, including regions of interest, ignore regions, exposure, focus, day/night behavior and sampling parameters.
One IPU turns a group of cameras into a single installation.
The Image Processing Unit manages and coordinates as many as ten Intelligent Camera Units. It receives candidate observations from the cameras, performs additional local analysis, manages communications with UrsiQ Core, protects important evidence and maintains the installation’s local operating record.
The IPU is also UrsiQ’s resilience layer. When server or mobile-data connectivity is interrupted, it can continue local monitoring and processing, retain work for later synchronization, and progressively adapt its workload if local resources become constrained.
Power management, communications, cooling and extensive operational telemetry are integrated into the field system so that UrsiQ Core can understand not only what the cameras are seeing, but how the installation itself is behaving.


UrsiQ is designed to treat power as part of the system—not as an afterthought.
At off-grid sites, the PSU manages the installation’s power supply and provides the interface between batteries, solar charging and the UrsiQ field equipment. Protection, distribution and charging are designed around unattended operation in real field conditions.
Sites with commercial power can use a mains power supply instead. The power architecture is selected for the location, camera count, communications method and desired unattended runtime rather than forcing every installation into the same configuration.
UrsiQ Core connects individual field installations into one managed wildlife-intelligence platform.
Core performs the server-side stages of UrsiQ’s detection and verification pipeline, coordinates deployed configurations and software, monitors system health, preserves audit data, manages wildlife observations, sends alerts and generates the customer-facing dashboard.
It also gives Verbium the operational depth needed to support the system properly: camera status, processing rates, battery behavior, equipment records, service history, configuration state and other telemetry can be reviewed centrally without exposing that complexity to customers.

Expand an iQ-100 installation with additional Intelligent Camera Units as coverage needs grow. One IPU supports up to 10 cameras: up to four can be mounted on the same tankan pipe, with up to six more positioned elsewhere around the site.
